Mundilfari

Mundilfari in Norse mythology is a somewhat obscure figure, primarily known as the father of the sun, moon, and the personification of time. According to the myths, he is a giant (Jotunn) who had two children: a daughter named Sol (the Sun) and a son named Mani (the Moon).
The myth recounts that Mundilfari named his children after celestial bodies, which angered the gods. In punishment, Odin and the other gods assigned Sol and Mani to chase the sun and moon across the sky, with the understanding that they would be drawn ever onward, never to rest. These actions explain the celestial movement and the cycle of day and night in Norse cosmology.
Mundilfari himself is a minor figure, mainly notable for his role in the myth explaining the celestial bodies’ origins rather than for any detailed personality or stories.
