Frigg
Overview
Frigg is a prominent goddess in Norse mythology, often associated with love, marriage, fertility, and motherhood. She is the wife of Odin, the chief of the Aesir gods, and is considered the queen of the Aesir. Frigg is also known for her role as a goddess who has the power of prophecy, although she does not reveal what she knows.
She is often depicted weaving the clouds and is associated with aspects of fate and destiny. Frigg is sometimes confused with Freyja, another major Norse goddess, although they have distinct attributes and roles in mythology.
Frigg’s most well-known story involves her attempts to save her beloved son, Balder, from death, which unfortunately ends in tragedy. She tried to obtain oaths from everything in the world to prevent them from harming Balder, but overlooked the mistletoe, which ultimately led to his demise.
